Harvestfest: Songwriter Showcase & Dinner
Celebrate 50 years of the Carstairs & District Agricultural Society!
Join us for a special evening as the Carstairs Agricultural Society proudly celebrates 50 years of community, agriculture, and tradition at our Harvestfest Dinner.
Taking place on November 7th at the Carstairs Community Hall, this milestone event brings together friends & supporters of our agricultural society to honour the past, celebrate the present, and look ahead to the future of agriculture in our region.
This year we are celebrating by inviting four local singer songwriters to showcase their stories and talents. We welcome amazing performers Dustin Farr, Dane Von Hagen, Berlyn Broadhead, and Kenzie DuBoiz.

Meet the Artists
Dustin Farr
Dustin Farr is a rural Alberta singer-songwriter whose music is rooted in the people, places, and experiences that shape life across Western Canada.
Drawing inspiration from family, farming, community, and the everyday moments that often go unnoticed, Dustin writes songs that celebrate the humour, hardships, traditions, and relationships that make rural life meaningful. His authentic storytelling and roots-country sound connect with audiences who value hard work, strong communities, and the feeling of home.
When he’s not performing, Dustin is deeply involved in agriculture education and community leadership, experiences that continue to influence the stories found throughout his music. Whether he's playing a local community event, a rural festival, or sharing a new song online, his goal remains the same: to create music that feels honest, relatable, and true to the people who live it.
Through every performance and every song, Dustin Farr delivers stories that remind listeners where they come from and what matters most.
Dane Von Hagen
Dane's style is a unique blend of heartfelt lyrics and catchy melodies, often infused with the grit and authenticity of blues and rock. He has an uncanny ability to evoke emotions, whether it’s joy, nostalgia, or a profound sense of longing.
His songs often reflect his life experiences, making them relatable to a wide audience. It's this connection that keeps fans coming back for more, eager to hear what he has to say next.
Berlyn Broadhead
BERLYN (Berlyn Broadhead) is a Country Music Alberta Youth Horizon Award winning singer-songwriter and proud cowgirl from Slave Lake, now based in Eckville, Alberta. She is a full-time touring artist known for her strong classic country style live shows and consistent audience draw across Alberta.
Her latest single, Delete You From My Phone (2025), broke into the Top 100 on the Canadian radio charts and received SiriusXM airplay. Previous releases include You and Me (2024), Save Us (2023), and the albums Rhinestone Cowgirl (2022) and I Play Country Music (2021).
Berlyn has performed at major events including Big Valley Jamboree, Country Thunder, the Canadian Finals Rodeo, and PBR Canada, and has opened for Joe Nichols, Kim Mitchell, Steven Lee Olsen, Gord Bamford, and Drake Milligan. She is a 2024 Nashville Josie Music Award nominee, 2024 “Diamonds in the Rough” winner, and a 2025 graduate of the Canadian Music Incubator Program.
Outside of music, Berlyn is also a western fashion influencer and model, working with knowledgeable jewellery and clothing brands on styled photo shoots and promotional campaigns that reflect her real-life cowgirl lifestyle.
Kenzie DuBoiz
Kenzie DuBoiz is a country/rock singer-songwriter from Olds Alberta whose music is inspired by adventuring the backcountry by horseback & her life on the farm.
She has built a reputation performing at shows across Canada, landing opportunities through word of mouth alone. Whether it’s focused on adventure or life’s little moments, Kenzie focuses on songs that are real.
