Arbor Day 2024

Celebrate Arbor Day and come to see what is growing at the Carstairs Nature Space!

When: Saturday May 11, 2024 from 9am-4pm
Where: Carstairs Nature Space

Join us for activities, demos and guided nature walks to celebrate Arbor Day. The first 100 participants will receive a White Spruce seedling!

Schedule:
10:00am- Tree Pruning demonstration with Bob Peel
11:00am- Guided Junior Nature Walk with Jen from Nature Impact*
12:00pm- Planting of the Annual Arbor Day Tree presentation & free hotdog and fruit tart lunch
1:00pm- Guided Nature Walk with Jen from Nature Impact*
2:00pm- Guided Tree Transplanting Activity

Please note:
Onsite sign-up is required for the Guided Junior Nature walk and the Guided Nature Walk. Tours are complimentary. Please sign-up at the main Nature Space entrance with event volunteers.

Celebrate Arbor Day with the Carstairs Public Library!

Starting on May 8th, grab your scavenger hunt list at the Library, at the Carstairs Nature space starting or a digital copy via the Library social media channels and start your search. The hunt will be on until May 15th. Once you complete your hunt, stop by the library to submit your scavenger hunt list and enter to win prizes!

Aggie Days Mountainview

Aggie Days Mountainview is a collaborative event hosted by the Agricultural Societies of Carstairs, Cremona, and Didsbury, with support from Mountain View County. This event is an informational, interactive celebration of the legacy, value and future of agriculture in our communities. Aggie Days Mountain View is planned and hosted by volunteers from our collective Agricultural Societies. 

Event Schedule:

Friday May 24, 2024:
9:00am-3:00pm- School Day!
Aggie Days Mountainview will welcome students from grades 4-6 of Chinook’s Edge School District.

Saturday May 25, 2024:
9:00am-3:00pm- Community Day!
Aggie Days welcomes the general public to this free-family centered event where participants can interact with various Agriculture focused exhibitors to learn about the value of agriculture in our communities.

Community Day will have an hourly draw where participants can win a bike and the first 2500 participants can get a free BBQ hot dog lunch!

Join us along with the Carstairs Curling Club on Saturday November 4th at the Carstairs Community Hall for Harvestfest Dinner. Doors open at 5:00pm.

  • General tickets include dinner- single tickets $40, multiples of 8 tickets can be purchase to secure a reserved table.

  • The Carstairs Ag Society hosts annual community events and programs to enrich the local community.
